The Journey Begins…

I’ve wanted to be an author since I was about 9 years old. I loved reading mystery/adventure stories and created lots of characters and story titles that I hoped I would one day make into novels of my own. I read all of Enid Blyton’s mystery and adventure books and wanted to create characters and stories just like her.

My parents even bought me a typewriter and I began to write stories but could never finish them.  At secondary school I even wrote some short plays for the Drama Club to use, sadly I no longer have copies of these, I wish I did though.

So if I have lots of ideas why haven’t I written anything yet? Well my problem is that I don’t want to fail, so if I never complete anything I can’t fail – or can I?

Am I a failure because I haven’t tried?

You see I’ve come to the conclusion that I am the latter and now is the time to change all that.

So here I am, its the middle of December 2016 and I’m making a positive move to get creative and write.  I’m going to try and write on this blog everyday, even if it’s just a line or two and I want to enter some short story competitions, just to get my work out there and stop me being this closet writer, this coward I have become.

I’ll share with you my successes and the things that don’t always go to plan, so join me on this adventure and let’s see where it takes us.

On your marks, get set, go…

Wish you all the best! I want to be a writer too. At first I thought it was too late for me to dream of it. But. I realized it’s never really too late to do the thing that makes you happy, right? 🙂
